Lin and Mai are my barbers... yes, I alway look forward to my next haircut! Lin was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Mai was born in China. 23 April

Pierre LaPlant. I have known Pierre for almost 30 years. He holds a Ph.D. in biophysics from U.C. Berkeley, and was employed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In 1985 Pierre was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Between 1985 and 1992 Pierre endured 4 separate 12-18 hour surgical openings into his skull to completely remove the tumor. The good news is that the tumor was non-malignant. Pierre has had an excellent recovery, albeit with some loss of feeling on parts of his face. 12 April
