SP/5 Robert S. Lawrence contemplating life in the recreation area near the 83rd Ordnance Battalion headquarters, our military base. When this picture was taken we were "short." That is military slang for having very little time left at a duty-station. We had less than a month before we would fly back to the United States and be discharged from the Army. It was very exciting, but at the same time it was hard to believe that very soon we would, once again, be civilians, with all of the privledges and responsibilities that are incorporated into being a civilian.
